Walsingham Youth Pilgrimage 2011 – updated!

Calling all interested parties!  Bishop John is planning on attending the Walsingham Youth Pilgrimage 2011 and invites you and your young people to join him in this exciting and innovative event.

Letter from Bishop John

Taking place in 2011 during 1st-5th of August, this week provides an excellent opportunity for youth groups and individual young people from across the Diocese to come together to celebrate their faith in a unique way in a beautiful part of the world – Walsingham in Norfolk.

Information about the 2011 Youth Pilgrimage is now available at the Walsingham website – along with a booking form that can be downloaded:

Our vision would be that groups from individual parishes complete their own booking form, but that we travel, camp and eat together as a Diocesan Group.  The total cost of the Diocesan Pilgrimage would therefore also include transport and food, as well as the fee for this year’s event (£60 before June 1st, £70 thereafter).  We envisage this costing somewhere in the region of  £140 per person (inclusive of food, transport, camping , electricity hook up etc.).  We’re looking at various sources to provide a subsidy to educe the cost for young people, and will update you as we move forward on this.

We’re beginning to put plans together, but for now have a look at this video for what’s on offer during the week:
